Banner Photo of the Week

My poor neglected blog...I haven't posted in over a week. Ugh!  Not for good reason though.  I was busy taking a photography workshop from the fabulous Beth Jansen.  Not only is she a talented photographer (her use of bold, rich and vibrant color is phenomenal), she is a fantastic, smart and witty lady.  She was very open and forthcoming with her knowledge and style of photography. If you are a photographer and have an opportunity to take one of her organic semi-private workshops, I would jump on it.

Now on with posting my photo banner of the week.  This little sweetheart's photo was taken at the workshop.  Isn't she a doll!!! I will have plenty more photos to share. :)

Here are a couple of pics of Beth at work and at play at the workshop...

Banner Photo of the Week

My internet has been down for the last couple of days so I was unable to post. The things we take for granted.

This photo was from a photo session with a 9-month-old I just finished.  I just love this pic of mom and daughter. I love how Baby "M"'s hand is touching her cheek and her open mouthed smile just lights up the photo not to mention how her mom looks so relaxed and beautiful. :)

We had our good friends, the Dowdneys, over for the weekend and enjoyed our first BBQ and "swim" of the spring.  (Okay... so we heated up the hot-tub.)  This pic of the week is of mommy and daughter enjoying the hot-tub.  More pics within the week of our weekend with the Dowdneys. :)

Banner Photo of the Week & Engagement Sitting: Andrea & Tom, Danville, CA (Saturday, March 6, 2010)

This banner Photo of the Week is a day late, but not for good reason.

My great friend and a fello photographer and I have launch a photography business together, heidi & stacey photography. We specialize in photographing weddings, engagements, bridal showers, and boudoir.  And are based out of the Bay Area (as many of your already know.)

Recently, we had an engagement sitting with Andrea and Tom and got some pretty amazing photos.  I have posted some of them below, and of course, 1 of the photos also made my banner Photo of the Week.

You may see the rest of Andrea and Tom's engagement sneak peek on our heidi & stacey blog.

I was archiving a bunch of my photos and came across this one.  I took this photo last fall and still love it.  She is such a doll and so is her mom.  I love how her eyes sparkle.

I have a lot to post this week including a sneak peak of an engagement sitting. :)

This 2-month-old was so expressive during the photo session with his family.  I had so my photos like this one of him smiling.  In this photo he is reacting to the silly faces that his daddy and his 3-year-old brother are making.  I just LOVE the joyful look on his mommy's face.  You may see the rest photos from this family's sneak peak here.

I had a tough time selecting the photo of the week.  I ultimately chose this one for several reasons. 1) I just love this family pic. 2) This session was a challenge since the kiddos were all 3-years-old and younger (a 2-week-old boy, a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl). And 3) Just look at all their expressions. :) The parents have such joy and pride. The little ones are so curious and very touchy-feely about this new baby, their new baby brother.  And Baby "C" is like "What the...is going on here?" :) (If you would like to see the rest of this Alamo Family's sneak peak click here.)

Banner Photo of the Week

I have decided (and I hope and pray I can keep it up), that I am going to post a new photo in my banner/header every Sunday. I decided to start today, on Valentine's Day, because 1 year ago today, my husband bought me my favorite lens for my camera which re-ignited my LOVE and passion for photography.  I have always practiced it, but never was never really that serious about it.  I always made excuses like "I just don't have time" to truly pursue this with the boys being so young (even though I was taking pics of them almost every day). Well, to be perfectly honest I was afraid.  I was afraid I wasn't any good.  And here I am 1 year later, with a photo blog (for all to see and criticize), a small photography business, and the up-start of a wedding photography business with my great friend.  What a year! And it all started with a gift of love from my loving thoughtful husband and his endless words of encouragement.  Words cannot begin to express how thankful and blessed I am. I love you, Honey!

So with that said...here it is the first photo of the week on my banner.  It is one of the first photos I took a year ago of my boys with my Valentine's Day gift.
